Sims taking forever to update

I have been having trouble for months with the sims not going online and now it’s saying it’s updating but the bar hasn’t moved at all. I recently downloaded two new expansion packs. Nothing is loading. It’s being very slow. I was able to play a few days ago but then it needed to update and hasn’t finished updating. Please help.

Could you also run the Origin reset tool and see if that helps.
