Sims broke my mac

I downloaded sims 3 on my MacBook Pro via origin and after a lot of trouble downloading it so I could actually play, it kept crashing. I turned off my mac and restarted it, and now both sides of my screen have gone black as if I am still playing the sims and there is nothing allowing me to change this. Also whenever I start my mac the screen glitches and loses its colour. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Please create a new user account on your Mac, log into it and see if you are experiencing the same problems in that account.
