Sims Medieval Won't Launch on Mac

I tried downloading the patch mentioned above, and it doesn't work.  The installer claims that I can't use that patch with this version of the game.  (yes, I checked that I was using digital download and not disk, but I tried both anyway just to see)

@VioletValmont Can you launch the game to the Launcher? Check to see what version shows on the lower left corner of the Launcher panel. It should read 2.0.114.00107. If it does read that, that is the most current version of the game and you do not need to patch it.

Even if it doesn't need the patch, I still can't play it.

What exactly is happening? Can you open the game at all? What kind of error message are you getting when you try to open it? Did you try anything mentioned in this thread as a solution? And please give us the specs of your Mac which are found under the black Apple Logo in the upper left hand corner. Do not include the serial number.

I just bought this game off of origin like an hour ago, it still is not working. Why are you still selling a game that doesn't work???
