My sims 4 for some reason will not start no matter what! Every time I try to play the game it goes to a black screen before crashing. I've tried restarting origin and my computer, repairing the game, updating it, creating a new sims 4 file, reinstalling the game, clearing origin cache and then clearing local cache, and so far nothing has worked!! I tried contacting EA support and while they were very helpful and nice, none of the solutions ended up working. This issue has been going on since May for me. Does anyone have any advice?

Please can you provide more information about your Mac. Instructions on how to do so and what to provide here - http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612...
Have you disabled Origin in-game - https://bluebellflora.com/2017/12/23/disable-origin-in-game/
What caches did you clear? Mac users have the Origin reset tool - https://help.ea.com/en-gb/help/origin/origin/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/
Have you tried playing in a new user account on your Mac?

so sorry for taking so long to respond! I've been super busy! But I tried the second solution of turning off origin in-game and it worked for getting my game to open again! Thank you so much!! My only problem is now after I've selected a save to load from and go to play, there's like a red square around the screen and it won't let me actually click things and play. I can only really move the camera around and zoom in and out. Do you know at all how I could fix this new problem? Again, thank you so much for your help!
