Sims 4 will not fully launch [ Edited ]

I'm having the same issue. The game was working earlier today in fact, but since I last tried to open the game (around 20 minutes ago at 10:30 pm EST), it hasn't opened and i'm only able to force quit it. My mac (macbook air 2020) says that the application is open but nothing is showing up on my screen.
