Sims 4 on Mac won't download!

Today I bought Sims 4 on my Mac OS Yosemite, and I already had troubles. I contacted the help center, and they told me instructions that you'd think would work, but once I tried downloading it again, it stayed downloading at 0% for hours on end. I'm about to refund my purchase and am unhappy with my experience. What can I do?

Hi,

 

I was having same issue like you and I fixed my problem by following few steps. Here I am putting those steps. Hope it would also help you there. 

 

1. Adjust Static IP on mac OS X. Refer this link to perform this task:

If this link doesn't help you then please follow this link http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/22161/how-to-set-up-a-static-ip-in-mac-os-x/ 

 

2. Try clearing cache of origin using following link: 

http://help.ea.com/in/article/clearing-your-origin-temporary-files/

 

If above both steps didn't help you, try to uninstall everything including origin and game & then follow this link http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4600 or http://support.apple.com/kb/PH6651 to create new user admin account on Mac system. 

 

Then reinstall origin and check game download again. It should work for you. Even if none of above solution help you, contact EA help by following this link: http://answers.ea.com/t5/Answer-HQ/How-to-contact-a-Game-Advisor-using-the-new-EA-Help-page/td-p/216...

I tried these steps, contacted a help center, and did many other suggested tips, but nothing has worked. This is super frustrating!!!!!! Will I ever be able to play sims 4?

Why is it such a hassle to download a game you paid hard earned money for?

 

Bought The Sims 4 PC version from Best Buy (just for the product code since discs included for decoration I guess), followed the steps, downloaded origin, redeemed product code, hit download, Sims has been "downloading" at 0% for 3 hours now.

 

I am using a Mac computer.

 

Because I opened the game I can't get my money back from Best Buy. I'm beginning to feel robbed, Fix this. Please!

General Download issues

The most common Download issues are as following.

 

Download doesn't start 

 

Download is really slow despite of fast Internet connection 

This is usually the case if there's lots of people downloading at the same time. You can try pausing the download and resuming to see if it picks up in speed.

 

Download reverts to lower percentage

Try turning on Safe Downloading in your Origin Options (click on the spoiler below to view an examplary screenshot).
