Sims 4 not working with El Capitan

I've been having trouble playing Sims 4 after updating my iMac (27", late 2012) to OS X El Capitan 10.11.6

So what happens is that the game runs super slow. Not the menus, but in build mode.. When pressing "," or "." it takes about two seconds before it rotates, and it's when I zoom out the game crashes. This happens every time.

First I tried to "fix game" in Origin, and when nothing changed for the better after doing this, I uninstalled the game and re-installed it earlier today. The reaction time for the rotation is now acceptable, but the game still crashes when zooming out...

The only fix is to download and install the latest NVIDIA driver from their website. Not normal practice on a Mac but it does fix the issue. Instructions and links are in that link I posted
