Sims 4 not opening

I am on a mac

I use origin

When i press play on sims 4 it comes up with:

Unable to start:

The Sims™ 4 is already running.

[ed35e0ea:29f00e76:00000000:18a1dd51]

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but nothing changed. I even reinstalled origin.

Please help thanks

Can you quit the game using Force Quit form the Apple menu?
