Sims 4 malfunctioning

After I bought the Season expansion pack I started to have problems playing the game. It wont start my already existing games. And if I try to make a new family I get as far as to choose which town I want and it crashes. I can go on for hours and make a new family but its always in the same place it crashes. And I have tried to reset the game but there was no improvement.

And as the game freezes I can do practically everything except go forward with the game. It doesn't stop me from moving my mouse or stop me from using the settings panel.

@BluebellfloraNo it doesn't seem like it. Like I hear the music I can click on everything except the things that can take me further in the game. I cant load a family that I've already created. The only thing I can do is to make a family but not move in them because that's when it freezes. I'm sorry if that doesn't make sense. I don't know how else to explain it.
