Hi!
We emailed vertical sync in the game settings, and now it seems to work. It doesn't crash on my M1 MacBook Pro

I have a brand new Mac book pro that literally only has the Sims 4 and expansion packs on it. I have uninstalled and installed the Sims and expansion packs several times and have reset the game to factory settings. No mods, no cc, no saved games, nothing. I have made sure that the Sims 4 Legacy has not installed, and I have lowered resolutions and gameplay settings... but when I try to Create a Sim it freezes and I can only shut down my computer. I feel like I have tried every option that has been suggested and I have no idea what to do!

hi!!
I've just recently downloaded the sims 4 with a few expansion packs on my new 2020 MacBook Air, for some reason I can never make it longer than a minute in the game without it crashing.
I've gone to documents and changed the setting so that it isn't fullscreen and stuff, any advice on how to make it run smoothly?
thank you

I am running into the same issues and followed the same steps. I even did a factory reset on my computer, thinking that may have been the issue-- nothing. One thing that has helped (?) is attempting to force quit the game. It takes a few minutes but eventually it will unfreeze and you'll receive a dialogue box asking if you're sure you want to quit, so you can press cancel and continue playing
