I recently started a New Game after playing about 60+ hours on my old save. I deleted all the pre-made households in the game and started placing homes from the share gallery in Del Sol Valley first. The first house I tried to replace was the Bailey Moon Manor but it crashed after about 30-40 secs of loading. I loaded the game back up and started in Willow Creek which worked fine, I was able to replace about 5 or 6 homes no problem, same with Oasis Springs. Then with Newcrest I almost had all the lots filled until I got to the last 20x15 lot and it crashed about 10 secs after I placed it.
I do have CC but it's mainly CAS items and they've all been batch fixed and organized extensively, but I don't think a CAS item would cause a lot to crash from being placed. Also i've never had this problem in my past 60+ hour save. The only thing that was different was the fact that I had been playing all day for about 8+ hours without a break before I created a new save so that could've caused the crashes since I don't do that a lot, I play 4-5 hours max usually in one session. Live mode and all the other modes work fine, it's just placing lots from the world view is the problem. I think I might turn "Lighting" down to Medium and see what happens. Here's my game options, Mac specs and Crash txt.
MAC Specs
macOS Mojave Ver. 10.14
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)
Processor: 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB
Two Crash txt, I believe they say the same thing though

Thanks for all the info, that's a perfect post
I doubt the graphics options you have would effect lot placement although having the Sims set to Very High will probably be a struggle for your Intel HD 4000, especially with CC if it is highly detailed. A quick way to test would be to trash the Options.ini file then load the game and try to place one of the lots in Del Sol Valley. This resets all your graphics options in-game, don't change them before trying to place a lot.

Thanks and regarding the Very High sims setting, the majority of the CAS CC is Maxis Match or the Poly count is within EA's limit. I don't use Alpha CC or anything too high because I have before and it caused crashes/lag. The extra RAM I have does help though
Earlier today I was able to place around 10+ lots with no problem even the same house from the gallery in Del Sol Valley that caused the first crash. I did a game repair and changed the lighting setting to medium before hand. Idk if that solved it or not
