Sims 4 crashing after a few minutes of play

Hi i hope someone can help. I recently got a new mac and having played sims on my old laptop (which was practically unplayable) i was very excited to start playing on here. So i went through the normal steps of installing origin and then the game plus the expansion packs that i had bought previously, i started playing and before id even properly started customising the first sim, my screen completely froze, nothing would move although it seems as though it was still working in the background as whenever i clicked the mouse the noise still happened. This has confused me so much, ive completely wiped origin and sims off my laptop and downloaded fresh, ive updated the game, repaired the game and im completely at a loss. I was hoping the new update would have fixed it but it hasnt! Any ideas?

Is it a new Mac with an Intel chip or M1 chip?

Yes it is a 2020 mac With an intel chip

• Operating System (Version) Big Sur
• Mac model mac book air 2020 Retina display 
• Processor intel run quad core m1 chip
• Memory (RAM) 8gb
• Graphics intel iris plus
• Are you attempting to play the normal version of the game or the Legacy Edition? Normal version 
• Are you running any antivirus? No
• Have you tried to repair the game in Origin? Right click on the game in My Games and select Repair Game. Yes but no change
• Do you use CC/Mods? If so, have you tried removing them and seeing if that fixes your problem? No i do not

I'm confused, can you please click on the Apple then About this Mac in the menu bar. Your Mac cannot be Intel and have an M1 chip too. Please post a screenshot of those details, minus the serial number (don't need that).
