Sims 4 Startup Issue - black screen & crashes

I recently downloaded The Sims 4. Upon trying to load the game for the first time it went to a completely black screen for a couple of seconds then crashed. I tried repairing the game multiple times through Origin. I tried moving The Sims 4 folder to desktop as I have seen other recommendations. I have tried multiple times and it has never successfully loaded. My specs are:

MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015)

1.6 GHz Intel Core i5

8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Macintosh HD

Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB

Is my Mac just not good enough to play the game?
