Sul sul, @MaritaMay.

With the November update, there are some changes in the minimum system requirements of the game. The Legacy Edition was created to ensure that everyone who could play The Sims 4 prior to the update can continue to play with their current game. If you're being prompted for the Legacy Edition, I would try downloading that one, and see how it runs for you.

There is a great post by @EA_Mai that goes over the details about what prompts for Legacy and what the requirements are for the future.

Please give it a look over and see if it helps, and let us know how it goes for you.

Let's see if we can figure out why it's not displaying for you. Can you share your Mac specs?

Finding your Mac's specifications

In addition to needing a 64-bit operating system, your Mac and macOS version will need to be able to support Metal. Sharing your specs can help us narrow down what might be doing it.

@MaritaMay

You need to be running macOS 10.11 El Capitan or later. Please update your operating system via the Mac App Store.

Re: Sims 4 Legacy Edition says it's need to play Sims, when it isn't

@bbdelcast  Please post the full specs of your Mac, as described here:

https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting...

It's not enough that you're running El Capitan; your Mac also needs to support Metal.

@laeckler  Your Mac does not support Metal and therefore can't run the standard edition of Sims 4.  The Legacy Edition was released a week ago, along with the new patch.  As soon as Origin updated your install, you would have been forced to download the Legacy Edition if you wanted to keep playing.

Here is the info about the computer and OS I am playing on,  is there anything that doesn't fit the requirements for the game and all packs after September 2019? Thank you so much for your help !  I looked it up and it said my mac supports metal but I'm not so sure anymore.

@puzzlezaddict btw my version is 10.11.6 since you can't really see it in the picture. Let me know if you need a bigger picture to see if I have the correct system requirements or not ! thanks again Standard smile

Re: Sims 4 Legacy Edition says it's need to play Sims, when it isn't

@bbdelcast  Your iMac is from 2008, so it doesn't support Metal.  El Capitan does, but that's not enough.  So unfortunately, you're stuck with the Legacy Edition, and no new packs, including Discover University.
