Sims 4 Fencing Indoor Roof Problem

★★★ Novice

Hey, not too sure how to word this.

Just today I found a problem when using fences indoors

Usually, when I try to create a landing space for two storey homes in the Sims I create a square with the fence tool then delete the floor inside that space, and it works fine.
Today, if i try to use a fence indoors it fails to recognise it as a room and instead the roof appears in the whole area. I have some pictures to explain better

The problem is that you're using one roof piece for the whole floor:

So when you remove a section of floor the game doesn't like it and adjusts the roof accordingly:

What you need to do is create separate roof pieces, one on each side of the upstairs room:

You can adjust individual eave length by holding down shift whilst grabbing and moving.

Hope this helps!

@kaylaxxox

Can you upload your build to the gallery so I can try it too?

Okay, I did! It's not the same lot, but the issue appeared in all my builds.

For houses where I have previously used the fence indoors, it still appears normal and the roof doesn't show through, but if I try to do it again the problem occurs.

I've never uploaded to the gallery. It's called "Stairs Issue With Roofing"
