Sims 4 Custom Conotent access issues - external hard drive [ Edited ]

Hi,

Need help to work out how to access my saved custom content having moved my Sims 4 to an external hard drive.  I had copied the mods folder over as well however when I go to play the game, I have no access to any mods / saved custom content. I still have all the files saved under the Documents EA Folder on the Mac but have reset the path for the packs on the Origin platform.  What am I doing wrong?  I'd really appreciate some help.  Thanks!

The game installation location is treated differently to the user data (Sims 4 folder) location. You cannot just move game files from your Sims 4 folder to another location, the game will just recreate the folder in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 as this is the default location.

If you want to store your Sims 4 folder, or part of it (not a good idea) to an external drive you need to create a symlink https://bluebellflora.com/saving-your-sims-4-folder-to-an-external-drive/
