Sims 4 - Build/Buy Glitches

SOS. Two problems: 

1. When I'm in build/buy, I can't place any objects. Columns, fences, furniture, wall art etc. I click on the item in the catalog repeatedly, it'll maybe pull up swatches, but when I go to drag the item out onto the grid... nothing. I'm a builder, so the game is unplayable for me right now.

2. The icons are all really buggy?? Like floor up, wall cutaway etc all glitch to different icons/barely work and it's a big mess.

Tried repairing my game through Origin.. nothing. What do I do?

Try a new Sims 4 folder. If it works normally then add your content back in in batches - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting...

@alainaleitzke  If you have the Better Build Buy mod, that is what caused the issue for others, at least on PC.
