Sims 3 launcher won't open with expansion packs

I've run into a serious problem. My launcher won't open when I have any EPs or SPs installed. It works just fine when nothing but the base game is installed. I've tried uninstalling one EP at a time and the trying to run the game but the launcher won't open. It says "Unknown error." My game is up to date I have no idea why it won't work. I've tried finding answers but nothing matches my problem. I don't know what to do!

I have all of the EPs and High End Loft Stuff. 

I am using a new computer (the newest iMac, I got it Christmas 2016)

I am not trying to move old data files into my new game, I am starting fresh.

Please help!!!

I'm sorry to read you are having issues to play your games  Have you taken a look to these threads?:
