Sims 3 downloaded from Origin won't open on Mac [ Edited ]

Recently I purchased Sims 3, as well as the Into the Future, Generations, and Late Night expansion packs, as well as the High End Loft stuff pack. I installed all of these, and when I tried to run my game, the Sims 3 icon appeared on my dock, but when it tried to open the only thing that appeared was a window that only says "Unknown error occurred." I have a new MacBook Air and usually games run very smoothly. I've tried to restart my computer but nothing that I try works. I don't have any CC or mods installed. Help!!
