Sims 3 Base Game On Mac Issues

I bought the Base game Sims 3 pack from Origin. It says that I have downloaded and installed the Base game as well as one of the expansions. I cannot find the files anywhere on my MacBook. I try to install the other expansions and am getting a message saying I need to save where The Sims3.app is located, again I cannot find it. I have tried unstalling Origin and re-installing it. I have tried calling and chating with the customer service and no help....So lost I just want to play, help

After downloading from Origin have you installed the game via the external installer where you would have been prompted to enter your product code?
