Sims 3 64-bit not playable - can't click play, update or anything

Hello! I'm not sure if anyone else is seeing this as well but I just downloaded the 64 bit for my Mac and I can't click play on Origin - it's just unclickable.
I try to play the game through applications with the sims 3 icon and I get as far as the game launcher. once I click from there it takes me back to origin and then nothing. Also when the game launcher pops up, none of my expansion packs are listed.
