@claragron

Thanks. Using Google translate (I don't speak Norwegian I'm afraid Standard smile ) I think the Sims 4 game is is a folder called spilxxxx on your desktop? Can you please move it into your Applications folder?  Just the game, not the spil folder.

Do you still get the error message ?

If so, could you post a screenshot of it ?

What's your Operating system ?

EA app Team

Hi @claragron,

That issue might be caused by incompatible mods or custom content. Are you using mods or custom content in your game? If so, please, remove it from the Mods folder and try to launch the game again.

Is it working now? Standard smile

Hi @claragron,

Let's try something else then, ok? Standard smile

  1. Go to Documents > Electronic Arts
  2. Rename The Sims 4 folder to The Sims 4 old.
  3. Try to open the game again.

Does it open now? If not, then you can rename back the folder, and please, try to reinstall the game as the error message says. If it does open, then let me know so I can tell you how to try to get your save games back Wink

No did not help. Now a new folder was created named "The Sims 4". We named this "The Sims 4 new" and renamed the old folder back to "The Sims 4"

We tried repair and we tried uninstall,l but nothing happens.

Re: SIMS 4 wont start

@claragron

Can you please try:

  1. In your Applications folder right click on the Sims 4 app and select Show Package Contents.
  2. Navigate to Contents > Mac OS.
  3. There should be two files in there. Right click on The Sims 4 and select Move to Trash. Don't drag the file as it will only move an alias and leave the original in place. Leave the other file, The Sims 4.par alone.
  4. Now open Origin, click on The Sims 4 in your Games Library and click on Download.
