I am having the exact same problem and I have a Mac , 2020, running Big Sur. I have tried removing my saves, repairing the game, removing all mods, reinstalling the game, clearing all caches, deleting all screenshots, and basically anything else I can think of or find on the internet.

Hmm, are you really sure it's Intel? Freezing in CAS is a known issue on the M1 Macs and enabling vsync in-game fixes it.

If it is Intel, try a new clean game folder https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting...

It’s definitely intel, I made sure to double check the specs before messaging back. I’ve tried the clean game folder. I’ve just decided to play a previously created sim for now. Thank you for the help.
