Try updating your Mac OS to Mojave which is the current version of the OS. Since you didn't tell us what kind of Mac you have, we'll need this information if none of the tips below help you.

The specs for your Mac are found under the Apple logo in the upper left hand corner. Please do NOT include your serial number.

A solution is to move your entire Sims 4 folder to your Desktop and DO NOT DELETE IT!. Restart your game understanding that none of your saved games, CC or Mods will be present as they are in the folder on your Desktop. Starting up the game will allow a new folder to generate. Start a new game and play for about an hour to insure that nothing else is wrong with your game.If the game plays fine, you can try moving your saved games and mods back in.

It also could be that you may have bad CC or an outdate mod in your game. If that is the case, then you will need to visit the sites you downloaded from and get their updated versions.
