Re: Sims 4 - Initialization error at startup on macOS High Sierra

So yesterday i updated my game as well installed the legacy edition to it, but when i tried to open the game it said:

Unable to start:

Initialization error at start up. [135dec40:90f690cf:00000075:495f32a0]

I tried everything and every single solution that people suggested in this thread, but the only thing that worked for me was to change the language in Origin and in the the game to English and then repair the game. Then I could finally open it! But I still have a problem.

Yesterday I also bought and installed discover university, but when I enter the game the pack isn't there. All the other packs is there, except for discover university. Is there a solution for this? I'm pretty upset about this whole thing with the legacy version, so I really hope that I will be able to play with university, since I spent a lot of money on it yesterday. So, does someone know how to fix this?

@Leandoerr Discover University doesn't work in computers without Metal, so you have to play with all the packs and expansions released until november/2019 (the legacy edition)

The Sims 4 won't launch after installing Legacy Edition

★★ Novice

Hi,

My The Sims 4 won't launch after I installed the Legacy Edition.

This pops up:

Unable to start:

Initialization error at start up.

[135dec40:90f690cf:00000075:495f32a0]

Mac specs:

MacOS High Sierra version 10.13.6

Macbook pro (13 inch late 2011)

2,4 GHZ intel core i5

4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Intel HD-video 3000 384MB

What i already tried to fix it:

Reinstall Origin

Reinstall all The sims packs and Legacy Edition

Repare game

Upgraded to mac OS High Sierra unfortunately my mac is too old for Catalina

Change language in Origin

Move The Sims folder to desktop

Created new mac account

Nothing works..... :-( Can someone please help me?

same thing for me... I bought it because on EA site they said we will not be able to play any extensions after university. But it's installed in my origin and doesn't show in my game

@isadoramarillia well that is *. I´ve done some research and they say that i need a 64 bit computer to play discover university, but i only have a 32 bit one. Is there any way to update my computer to a 64 bit?

@shmanda3 What isn´t working for you? For me it worked to change the language in Origin and in the game to English, and then repair te game. Just make sure to back up your sims folderm otherwise you´ll lose all your saving etc.

@SaBerthelot yeah, i read that too. Overall i think they could have been more clear about this whole thing, because now i have spent a lot of money unnecessarily.

Re: Sims 4 - Initialization error at startup, Legacy Edition

@MaseAmsterdam  I've merged your post into the master thread for this issue.  Please try SimQARobo's workaround, posted here:
