I just change my game and Origin language from portuguese to english and the game is loading fine.

I've notice a aprox. 500kb download at Legacy Version. Also notice when I changed language origin always verify all games bundles and extra expansion packs...

After this I change the language back to portuguese, and everything works fine now.

I didnt delete any The Sims 4 Folder or file. And Didnt re-install nothing.

Same problem here ! So, i've tried the solution of coxdiego (change language) and the game works, in english !!! But when i want to change the game in french again. The game is still in english, even if it's "french" in origin setting. I don't know what to do, my english is really bad, i can't play in english, lol

So I've uninstalled my game 3 times now, after the 2nd time I completely deleted everything (I backed my save files), except my Origin client. I freshly downloaded The Sims with all the packs I have bought plus the Legacy Edition. I still get this error 

Unable to start:

Initialization error at start up.

I have an iMac (2007), with El Capitan

I downloaded the game in German, I have yet to try downloading it in English. Origin has been set to English from the very start. I will delete everything again and freshly download The Sims, this time in English, and see if it helps as suggested.

On a side note: In case it does work, since all the descriptions of my households, lots, books etc. are in German on my save files, will there be some kind of issue once the game is set to English?
