Sims 3 "Disc authorization failure" Mac

I installed sims 3 using steam and then transferred it to origin, but after I installed a super patch and run the launcher to start the game, it told me “disc authentication failed”. I bought it online without having to use the CD or disc but it still says failed. HELP!

@rosette099  I split your post into its own thread because the previous thread was quite old, and the issue has changed since then.

Are you on a Mac?  If so, which version of the Super Patch did you run?  If you're running Windows, did you ever install via Steam, and how did you uninstall before transferring to Origin?
