Problems using my cursor in The Sims 3 with macOS Big Sur [ Edited ]

Hello. I am having issues with my cursor in The Sims 3 on macOS Big Sur. I'm using the latest version of The Sims 3 on a late 2013 15" Retina MacBook Pro. For some reason, The Sims 3 is much less responsive to my clicks. I tried repairing it but for some reason, that doesn't seem to fix the situation. 

I double checked under Security & Privacy -> Privacy and it doesn't look like The Sims 3 needs additional privileges from me or is asking for anything.

@VeroniqueBellamy  When you say "less responsive," what exactly do you mean: does the game take more time to respond to a click, is there a delay in registering movement, does it ignore clicks some of the time, or something else?  Did everything work normally before you installed Big Sur, and if so, did anything else about your game or system change in between the last time it worked normally and now?

Additionally, are you using a mouse (what kind?) or trackpad, and have you tested with the other?
