I've been having this annoying issue with my game: while playing, suddenly something happens and the game won't pause when pressing the "P"-key. Pausing works with "0" as do the game speed changes with 1,2 and 3. Also when the pausing stops working, the game won't open the cheat console. The problem gets fixed with restarting the game and everything works as usual again for some time, before it happens again.
I'm playing on Macbook, OS X 10.9.5.
Any ideas how to stop this from happening? Super annoying, if I have to continuously restart the game... -_-
sincerely,
addu

Is it possible that you are running other apps on your Mac, even just in the background, that could be interfering with the game?

Nope, that can't be it. As there has been quite a lot of issues with the game working, I always shut down all running apps and usually even play without being connected to the internet.

What Mac do you have? Please can you provide more information about your Mac. Instructions on how to do so here - http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612...
Can you also confirm what Sims game you are referring to?

Thanks, what a weird issue! Sims 4 performs better on Yosemite, is there any chance you can upgrade to OS X 10.10.5? That may iron out the issue. Have you also tried repairing the game by right clicking on it in your Origin games library and selecting Repair Game?
