Patch wouldn't download now I can't re-install my game

the June 2020 patch was ready for download and kept failing. I then deleted my sims game and now I am re-downloading it but it is just stuck - completely not working. I have been dealing with this for 3 days - please help!

EA chat support have been USELESS

Hey I have MAC OS Catalina and I have managed to get it to work now after a 5 hour painful re-download

Please run the Origin reset tool then try again.

I have done this so so so many times! my origin keeps crashing then I have to redownload for 4 hours and then it crashes again!
