Origin won’t download or open on MacBook

I'm having trouble the same with a MacBook I've just got this Christmas. I used have an old white 2009 one and Sims 4 worked just fine on that (if a bit slow)

Could a brand new MacBook not have the power to play it?

i have the same problem but my macbook is 2012 model

and its 4 gb 1600 mhz ddr3

2.5 ghz intel core i5

what can i do please helpp

Could you be more specific? How far into the installation process are you getting? Which version of macOS are you running?
