Origin update, mods not working

★★★ Newbie

So I updated Origin today, and after I did so Sims4 will not open as long as any mods are in the Mod folder. It doesn't matter what CC is in the folder, if there is content it gives an error message saying:

"Unable to start: Cannot start because the below file appears to be corrupted. If this file is a Mod please remove it and try again. If not, please repair or reinstall the game via Origin. (File name) {60c399f9:29f00e76:00000000:4b0d852b}"

I have tried to reinstall Origin and Sims4 both on my Macbook that I play on, and even tried loading everything up and trying on my desktop that has Windows. I did this following instructions I found after a quick Google search. I am unsure how updating Origin could have corrupted all of my mod files, and would really like to not have to download all of the files again from the different locations. What other steps should I be taking after reinstalls, cashe clearings, trash bin clearings, etc? The game starts normally if there is no mods folder.

Update of Origin should not corrupt your mods. But the update of the game can do it. One small broken CC could do it.
Move the mods folder to the desktop.
Delete localthumbcache.package file in the game - important!
Fix the game in Origin.
Origin/Library - right-click on TS4 - option "Repair game"
You have to wait until Origin will fix all packs, not only the base game.
Turn on the game to create a new, empty mods folder and check if a game is working now without mods and CC.
Check if there are new updated versions of the mods and CC you are using.
Then copy from desktop your mods and CC and paste it in the new mods folder. First, paste script mods one by one every time checking if the game is OK. Do the same with CC but if you have a lot of this, try the 50/50 method. ( divide your CC into smaller batches for example 50 pieces in one subfolder and check these subfolders one by one)
You need to find a culprit and either remove it or replace it with an updated version
