@captainholtt  I've merged your post with another thread on this issue.  Please try Bluebellflora's suggestions in the post immediately above yours.  It woudl be great if you could let us know whether they worked, and if not, whether the error was the same as before.

@puzzlezaddict thank you for the suggestion but unfortunately it hasn't worked I tried doing everything you said but it still comes up with the same error.

@captainholtt

Could you set up a new administrator user account on your Mac and see if it will launch in that - https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/mac-help/mtusr001/mac

@tybhtx

In System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Full Disk Access can you see Origin? Can you also look in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Files & Folders?

I had this issue and I did as you said, but I tried reinstailling my game (I reinstalled both origin and Sims 4 when I first had the problem) and all it says is "Origin needs to download files and is waiting for permission. Please choose "Yes" when Windows prompts you for permission." and each download is failed.

Please run the Origin reset tool then try again.

I have the same problem and I have been in touch with EA Games since Christmas. No success... I want to play a game that was bought.

Hi!

So I am also having the same problem. I’ve already tried to make a new user account and that didn’t work. So I went to check to see if it had full disk access but I don’t have that under my privacy settings. Is there any other ideas you may have?

My game was running fine before Origin and Sims updated early December.

Thanks.

What about for a MAC? My boyfriend bought me a new computer for my birthday so I can play the sims again. I got to play for a week before these new updates came out and ruined my good time. I’ve been trying to figure this out for over a month now.
