Origin needs to download files and is waiting for permission.Please choose "YES"

★★ Novice

I need the instructions for how to pass this error message on an APPLE MAC.

I am running on the MAC 10.13.6

I continue to get the error message Origin needs to download files and is waiting for permission. Please choose "yes" when windows prompts you for permission.

The problem is the window never prompts me requesting permission.

I have already attempted to reinstall Origins. Nothing is working. Please help ME!

I have attempted to find a solution for days. Please help !

I am getting the "origin needs to download files and is waiting for your permission" with the Sims 4, I have a Mac and was told by an agent on the live chat before purchasing that Sims 4 would be compatible so I don't know why I'm getting this error message.

In System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Full Disk Access does Origin have a check mark next to it?

Origin on Mac "thinks" it's installed in windows. I can't play my game anymore!

★★★ Newbie

I've been able to play Sims 4 through origin on my MacBook Pro 2014 for months until one day it won't update and it's telling me to "wait for Windows" to update. Why does origin think all of a sudden I'm using Windows?  I'm so confused!!! Does anyone know how to fix the problem?

@katiechadwell

Go into System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Full Disk Access. Is Origin showing in the list of apps? If so, is it checked?

@tybhtx

I've merged your posts.

Could you run the Origin reset tool then try again? If that doesn't immediately fix it please set up a new administrator user account on your Mac and see if you can launch and update Origin in that account.

can't give origin permission to download files on Mac

★ Novice

so I bought sims 4 on origin but every time I try to download it it says:

Your download has been paused
Origin needs to download files and is waiting for permission. Please choose "Yes" when Windows prompts you for permission.

the issue is that I never get a notification to grant permission to download.
this might be an easy fix but nothing I have found seems to have worked, baring in mind I have no clue about computers or much to do with my MacBook so if you do have a solution please explain in layman's terms.
my Mac is running macOS high Sierra version 10.13.6.

I just want to play sims quarantine is so boring please help.
