Old games are lost whenever a new game is opened

I have been having this problem for a while now. Whenever I decide to start a new game my old sims, houses and everything I created gets lost. I can bring them back from old saved games but this time the new family gets deleted. Does anyone else has this problem and is there a way to fix it?

Please could you click on your saves folder once to select it then go to File > Get Info. Under the General > Where section near the top of the info window please copy and paste the location of your saves folder here.
