Hi,

I am definitely experiencing this problem!

My Mac specs are as follows:

- OS X El Capitan, Version 10.11.1

- MacBook Pro (15", mid 2012, no retina display)

- Processor: 2,3 GHz Intel Core i7

- Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB

I had problems with the El Capitan upgrade, so had to delete my hard drive and then reinstall the OS. Does that mean it's a clean install?

I also have the Outdoor Retreat and the Holiday Celebration Pack.

I was really looking forward to playing over the holidays, so hope this problem can be fixed soon!

Thank you, Katie

I have been experiencing problems after the latest patch updates. Bought Get Together yesterday, but unfortunately it is not possible to play the game as the game crashes instantly and the graphics are malfunctioning.

iMac (21,5", late 2013)
3,1 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 1024 MB
It runs El Capitan 10.11.2

Thanks. Added your GPU to the list.

There was an update to El Capitan today, and unfortunately I am still getting crashes. Tried old households and even tried a new one to no avail.

@tinlon1018

If the game is showing up in your Applications folder please try this:

  1. In your Applications folder right click on the Sims 4 app and select Show Package Contents.
  2. Navigate to Contents > Mac OS.
  3. There should be two files in there. Right click on The Sims 4 and select Move to Trash. Don't drag the file as it will only move an alias and leave the original in place. Leave the other file, The Sims 4.par alone.
  4. Now open Origin, click on The Sims 4 in your Games Library and click on Download.

So I found a little workaround that I should have tried long ago. My quality settings cannot be set on High or anything above that. On Medium there are occasional glitch outs, but I save often and I can play. I couldn't even look in a house before this. Maybe this will work for others, maybe not.

Hi,

I installed Sims 4 (just the base game) this morning, it worked just fine for a couple of hours. Now whenever I try to play again, the game crashes/hangs post the new/old household loading screen. I've also tried repairing the game through origin, to no avail.

Is anyone else facing this? Any help wold be appreciated!

My game and OSX are up to date, here are the specs:

Base game version 1.13.106.1210 (No SP/GP/EPs installed)

El Capitan version 10.11.2 (15C50)

Model iMac (27-inch, Late 2012)

Processor 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 512 MB

Thanks,

Maggie
