My Sims 3 game started playing up about two years ago and I can't fix it still! The game will allow me to start up the game, go through the logos and get to the page where one would choose which game to play on, or to start a new world etc. It is at this point that I get a notification saying 'no game disc found. Please insert disc' (or something along those lines). The options are either 'cancel' or 'retry'. When I press 'retry' the box pops up again. It is nothing to do with the disc drive, as I have tried it on multiple computers, all of which have working disc drives. I can't see a single scratch on my disc, and anyway I've tried uninstalling expansion packs and therefore trying with different Sims discs. This is so annoying, as I really want to play Sims, and have wanted to for over two years, but nothing I've tried has worked! Any suggestions? or is my disc just never going to work? I'm on a Mac by the way.

@12dejamoo The most recent versions of mac OS won't authenticate TS3 discs, even if you still have a disc drive. The fix for this is relatively easy—uninstall your newest pack by release date and install the digital version of that pack through Origin instead. The uninstaller that comes with the game will miss some files, so you'll need to delete them manually. Here are instructions on how to do so:

As long as you've registered your discs in Origin, the base game and its packs will appear in your Origin library and be available for free download. Even if you never redeemed your codes, you can still do so now. The codes are on the backs of the inserts that came in your disc cases; they're the same ones that you entered when installing each pack. If you no longer have those inserts, you can still find the codes in your computer:

@12dejamoo, this is a known problem and as Apple no longer includes Disk Drives in most of their computers, the digital copy is the only way to get the game to work. Since you already purchased the game and expansions, you can use the CD keys to register your game on Origin.
Since you did not give us any additional information, like what kind of Apple computer you are playing on, I am going to refer you to the Sims 3 Troubleshooting thread sticked at the top of this forum. Please read over it and see if any of those solutions can get your game back up and running.
