My Sims 3 game keeps saying i need to insert "the sims 3 late night" disk into the disk drive, when it is in the drive, and the game has loaded to the world selection window.
What do i do?
Please help i've had this problem for a while

@KKMelons It's possible that your disc is damaged, but it's also possible that your computer can't authenticate the disc at all. (If you're on a mac, this is definitely what's happening—the most recent versions of mac OS will always fail to authenticate TS3 discs.) Either way, the solution is to uninstall Late Night, clean the registry (Windows) or delete the hidden library files (mac), and reinstall the pack through Origin.

@KKMelons It's not that hard to uninstall the disc version of TS3 and download through Origin instead. I've done so a number of times. You'll also stay on patch 1.67 instead of 1.69 like Windows users, which means you won't get the mandatory Origin tie-in or the pack selector.

How do you install the Origins game?
November 2018
@KKMelons If your discs are registered to your account, or you can register them now (with the same codes you used to install the game via disc), the content will appear in your Origin library, and you can download them for free. Just download the Origin app for macs and sign in.

You'll need to manually uninstall Late Night, download and install the Origin version, and then run the Super Patch (digital download version).

You'll also probably need to create an alias for Late Night in your Applications folder, alongside the alias for the base game. This is pretty easy:

If you get stuck or run into trouble, you can manually uninstall the whole game and start from scratch with Origin. This isn't as intimidating as it sounds; Bluebellflora has written a very helpful guide to this process:
By the way, if you have old saves you want to keep, just move your Sims 3 game folder out of Documents and onto your desktop. Once you get the game installed and launch it, you'll have a clean game folder. Just move the folder marked Saves from your old game folder to your new one, and all of your existing saves should show up again. But don't do this until you have all of your packs installed, or the saves might not load.
