My sims 4 game on origin won't open

After the origin/Sims 4 update, I am not able to start up my Sims 4 app. The app opens up but my screen just turns black for a moment and then it just says "error" If it's any different I own a mac

Can you please right click on the game in your Origin games library and select repair game. Make sure you also move out your Mods folder to the desktop and trash the localthumbcache.package file.
