Hi all, there is something very wrong with my sims 4 cats and dogs expansion pack.
I bought the sims 4 cats and dogs a while ago and it worked fine - but I was busy with school so only used it once, and then I got a new macbook air. Now it's summer and all of my exams are finished, I reinstalled origin and the sims 4 as I really wanted to play it again as I have the time. However, all of my sims 4 expansions work except for Pets.
My pets expansion downloaded successfully, and when I go into game there is the red gem at the start, so the game knows I have it installed somewhat. However, I have none of the content and no option to create a pet. When I hover over the red pet gem at the beginning, it says 'restart to use', and I've restarted many times and even tried to repair the game, yet none of this has worked. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and it still doesn't work, along with rebooting my laptop. I bought the sims 4 seasons and it works fine too!
What should I do? Is my cats and dogs expansion broken forever?

@Gleeek4Lif You can run the Origin reset tool for macs, and then disable Origin in-game. It might also help to uninstall the pack, run the reset tool, and then try installing again.

The other potentially easy solution is to drag your entire TS4 game folder out of Documents and onto your desktop. When you launch the game again, a clean folder will spawn with no content. If the pet options are all available when you use this clean folder (play around with the various options to make sure), you can move your existing saves and other content into the new folder from the old one.
If none of this fixes your problem, please post back here with your computer's specs:

Thank you so much @puzzlezaddict!! I will try this now, I had to update my OSX setting on my whole mac, as I had been putting off updates for ages! I reinstalled the game again and am about to try if it works now with what you said!!
