Moved Sims 4 to external hard drive but mods and cc not working?

I've tried what seems like everything. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game, deleted and re-added the EA folder, made sure the Resource file was in there, removed the localthumbcache package. Everything is under the external hard drive including origin yet my game won't recognize my mods? Also, I'm using a Mac.

Are you referring to creating the symlink?

Hi, I think that's what I would have to do. Do you know about how I can do so? Most posts I see are for Windows only and I'm on Mac OSx. Also can it be damaging to my computer?
