Mac Sims 4 Slow Loading

I’m trying to play the Sims 4 on my MacBook Air. 
I realize that the processor is not as good in these as in the Pros, however mine use to work fine.

the game has not even reached the Main Start Menu yet and it’s been 20 minutes. 
Is there some way to diagnose/fix this?

I had to then Force Quit it because it was taking so long.

Move your Sims 4 folder to the desktop then try to launch a new clean game.
