Hi good morning or evening wherever you are
I just recently bought the sims 4 journey to Batuu thought I'd try it
Im running it on a mac book as I have also run all my sims games on.
When I tried installing it, it gave me this message
"Oops… Windows blocked our attempt to download game content. If you'd like to allow Origin to download content to your computer, select Retry below. When prompted, grant permission within the User Account Control pop-up."
I've only seen solutions for Windows computers I don't know how to fix it on a Mac
Can Anyone help me ?

Have the exact same problem, tried the following without success:
Running macOS Catalina 10.15.6
User is Admin
-> Let Origin have full access to HD
-> Reset Origin
-> Reinstall Origin
-> Tried to create a new operating system user account with admin rights and installed Origin under new account
-> Disabled the Firewall
-> Allow downloads in Safari from any site without asking
-> Still get the same error message over and over again, no operating system dialog asking for permissions ever appear.
It looks obvious that the problem is related to some missing permissions but unclear under what process and what site Origin is trying to access.
Any suggestions?

hey so i somehow fixed the problem ! accidentally...
Open Terminal ( Finder > applications > utilities > Terminal) or (cmd+space) and type terminal
copy and paste this command without brackets
( sudo spctl --master-disable )
it might ask for your password its just your password to unlock the mac if you have one
go to system preferences > security and privacy> general tab
there should be a third option under "allow apps downloaded from:"
and make sure its on "anywhere"
open origin and try to re-download it
Mine downloaded straightaway no problems!

Great workaround but PLEASE make sure to re-enable the Gatekeeper settings after downloading. This is bypassing the built in security in macOS, potentially opening up your Mac to malicious downloads and installations. Could you add that to your solution? It's a great solution but not everyone who sees this will understand what they are doing and the serious consequences it has on the security of their Mac.
To re-enable the default Gatekeeper settings open Terminal and type in:
sudo spctl --master-enable
