[MAC] Sims 4 Crashes on EA Screen

I bought the Sims 4 for my Macbook pro last summer and it worked fine. I stopped playing for a few months and yesterday when I tried to open it, it crashed on startup. It just freezes on the screen with the EA logo and the spinny beach ball of death appears. 

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I tried deleting the sims 4 folder in my documents, I tried repairing the game through Origin. None of these methods worked.

Any help is appreciated!
