[MAC] I can’t open the sims 4

I exited the Sims 4 game and I was trying to log back in and it wouldn’t work, the little icon at the bottom of my screen was jumping But it said ‘application not responding’ so I tried repairing the game and restarting origin but that didn’t work either, this has happened before but after doing these steps I’m usually able to open it.
