[MAC] Can't start The Sims 4 due to [85262c58:29f00e76:00000000:00000000]

I'm on a macbook air, running OS X El Capitan.

I can't start the sims. It keeps coming up with a message saying I can't open because there is a missing file blah blah.

I downloaded cc earlier today and some before that but the problem only just started.

I know the problem is probably the custom content, but how am I supposed to know which one it is when I have three hundred and forty three.

Is there a program that measures the level of bugginess or something? That could be great.

Ok, I figured out how to fix it without going one by one. I split all of my mods folder files except rescource.cfg into 10 folders.

I tested them by trying to open The Sims 4. The problem one was part j, which I split into 4 folders because it had 37 files in it.

I tested those 4 folders, and the problem was the third one.

I kept testing all the folders then splitting it into less and less folders until two files left.

I tested them on their own, and the problem file was one of the many hairstyles I downloaded.

It was a recolour of a base game hairstyle.

This only took me about 10 minutes once I had all the folders sorted.

Thank you so much for the help!

Hi @xkaseysimmerx,

You have to try one by one, there's not a program to find the CC with the issue. Sorry for not having better news Frown

I have many questions!
I dont have a folder of Sims 4, i deleted it.
When i click on my main folder on my mac and that on programms and that on a folder which sais Sims. When i click on it there are 4 thinks in it including Sims 4, now i click on the right button and that on the feld under open the game, ill get also many folders wjich say: _installer, contents, a file called installer.plist and another folder called sopport.

do you mean these folders where you seperated the files within them?

and when how did you checked that they are bad? You said you tested them by trying to open The Sims 4, but i dont know how you do that?
