I've been digging through threads on this site for over an hour and I can't find anything that will fix this issue! I just bought and downloaded Sims 4 today. Downloaded and installed Origin, downloaded and installed Sims. It let me get through character creation, but as soon as it tried to actually start gameplay, the game would crash. I haven't downloaded any mods or CC. I've tried every option I've seen including the following:
1. Removing the options.ini file to desktop.
2. Clearing all Origin data from Application Support, Caches, Preferences, and Saved Application State and removing the Origin file from the Library folder, then re-downloading and re-installing Origin.
3. Turning graphics quality as low as it can go.
4. Removing the entire Sims 4 folder from Documents to start completely fresh.
5. Repairing Sims 4 in Origin.
6. Uninstalling and reinstalling Sims 4 from Origin.
Nothing has worked! I've also tried starting the game without the tutorial (just thought it would be useful since I haven't played since Sims 2), and it'll let me get through character creation, buy a lot, and start building but still crashes within five minutes. I'm super frustrated because from the other threads I've seen, it looks like those steps usually solve all the issues, but I can't play at all! Anyone have any other ideas of what the problem could be? Here are my laptop specs:
MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2012)
Processor 2 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB
Thank you for any help!

Finally had time to sit down and let my laptop update! Updated to 10.15.2 Catalina, and everything is going fine now. Thanks!
