Issues With Sims 3 64 Bit Game

★★★★★ Apprentice

The original thread about The Sims 3 64-bit release was getting extremely long and I feel like most peoples issues would get drowned out so I thought to make a separate thread concerning what issues we have with the game. I'll start:

  1. Where is the option to choose which packs we can play with in the game? Before I switched to Mac, I do remember my PC having this option but for some reason I cannot remember whether Mac also had the option to choose what to play with.
  2. Also, is anyone else's expansion packs greyed out at the bottom of the launcher (which includes the base game as well--also greyed out)
  3. Obviously there's the issue that .sims3packs and store content refuses to download at the launcher. Some people were able to bypass it by just doing "Repair game" on Origin but others can't?
  4. Also, remember how in order to play the game you needed to play from the latest expansion icon? Why is the base game icon the one that jumps on the dashboard?
  5. The Sims 3 still doesn't show up in applicaitons.
  6. For some reason capslock doesn't work at all??
  7. Why is it when the graphic settings are high the game looks glitchy? My game also loads much slower too (yesterday it took 30 minutes to load)..but when most settings are low, the game doesn't glitch and runs faster (today my game only took 4-5 minutes to load).
  8. When I log into my account at the launcher, I'm no longer logged in at world/game selection.
  9. I'm not sure about this one, but I made two games: one with just one sim, and one with two sims and a dog. The one sim game runs just fine, but when I tried to add the family with the dog into the world, the game immediately crashed after the lot loaded with them on it. Both families were played in Sunset Valley. I know some people have had issues with the Pets expansion pack, but I don't know if this also a factor.

I know that The Sims 3 team have worked very hard on making this game available for Mac users whose computers have updated to 64-bit only. I know that the game is no longer in development. I don't want these issues to be fixed "right away" necessarily, but I really do hope that at some point in the near future at least some of this issues are fixed. That is all.

Feel free to add any problems you've also had with the game!

Actually, it's much more helpful if people don't just pile all their issues into one thread and instead start their own threads or post in existing ones if someone else has already reported it. There is a really important button in the OP of each thread, the Me Too button. The more "Me Toos" a thread gets the more likely it is that EA take notice of it.

  7. a) because higher settings require more power. Does your Mac have the resources to handle it?  b) was your Mac in the exact same state when you loaded today? With the exact same apps and windows open and the amount of CPU and RAM available?
  8. It's been like this since 2009
  9. Pets is a very demanding pack. Make sure your Mac can handle it.

@Bluebellflora Sorry, but for some of these things I really wouldn't know since I only played on Mac for less than a year and I used to play on PC for 4 years prior. Didn't mean any harm with the thread.
