Invisible floors and glitches

★★★ Novice

When I enable script mods (just by checking the box in option; with nothing in the mods folder), the glitch appears! I have tried resetting Origin, repair, uninstalled, and install again. I have deleted all the folders (tray and mod) as well as clearing the caches and deleting the whole folder entirely to restart. But unfortunately, none of it has fixed the problem. This has been a recurring problem for me even if I update or repair the game. Personally, I could not play the Sims raw and because of this, I haven't played the Sims in months now.

Product: The Sims 4

Platform: iMac

Which language are you playing the game in? English

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)

What is your current game version number? 1.71.86.1220

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed?

1. All expansion packs

2. All game packs except "Journey to Batuu"

3. Stuff packs I don't have:  Backyard Stuff, Bowling Night Stuff, Cool Kitchen Stuff, Kids Room Stuff, Luxury Party Stuff, Moschino Stuff Pack, Paranormal Stuff Pack, Perfect Patio Stuff, Romantic Garden Stuff, Spooky Stuff, and Toddler Stuff.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves?

What happens when the bug occurs? Floor disappears in houses and apartments.

What do you expect to see? When I make a household and enters the house, the floor disappears.

Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not at the moment. I've removed them.

Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Unsure

Please describe the patch or change you made.

It was fine for me. I tried a few households in live mode and build mode. I also tried the apartment in your OP:

I loaded up with your in-game options and the game window was tiny (I tested on a 2019 27" iMac). Does this happen in fullscreen and windowed on different resolutions? I think it may be related to the GPU in your Mac but I just don't understand how toggling a script mod setting, when it's a vanilla game, can cause it.

Do you think it's this? https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/Sims-4-keeps-crashing-on-2020-iMac-27/td-p/9522077

Just to be clear, this ONLY happens when you enable the script mods check box in the game options? Did you move the entire Sims 4 folder to the desktop, launch the game and it was fine? Did you then enable script Mods, close the game and restart and it happened? And not add any of your previous saves/mods/content into the new folder?

Huh, weird. So just ticking the box to enable the Mods causes it, yet you have an empty Mods folder? DO you have a lastCrash report in your Sims 4 folder from the last time it crashed/froze? If so, could you copy and paste the contents here, or attach it. If you attach it you will need to open in TextEdit first and remove the XML from the first line.

That's annoying. Can you set up a new user account on your Mac and see if the same thing happens in that account? It's a very strange issue as you apparently have no Mods installed.

@bbchauu

Hmm. Would you be willing to zip up your Sims 4 folder, upload it to a file sharing site and PM me the link so I can test?
