i got the sims 4 this december on macbook air 2020 (macOS Big Sur) and it worked fine until now, when i open the game it says that the game is already running. i've followed the advices above, i resetted the game, reinstalled, updated and repaired but it didn't work so i deleted the file userdata.lock and the game works BUT DOESN'T SAVE the pregress. so everytime i have to create a sim and build an home and it wont save. please help!

As a result, however, all work being done so far, was deleted.

@ventrap I did this got the game to load up but lost previous saves, daughter who plays the game wasn’t bothered. Not sure if what I did above caused this or if the original bug was a fault.

@Menuha hi, i have the same problem as you. i did this delete userdata.lock file thing after the sims is already running error, now i cannot save any of my games. did you solve that and if so, how? hope you see this...

Hi i need serious help im trying to ya know play the sims on my windows 10 ASUSVivoBook and i used the EA app to download the sims4 and i keep getting the error of it already being in use and i already ended tasks for my EA app and sims and i powered off my laptop but it still says the error please someone help!
